What is your natural habitat?

We removed our chimney last year to have more living room space in our house. I am really glad we did because we have noticed that ospreys in the area have taken a shine to chimneys to make nests.

These nests are massive and can weigh over 200 pounds, just plopped right on top of these chimneys. Once they are there, it is difficult to get them to leave.
Seeing these unusually placed nests make me wonder about my natural habitat. I wonder if I am missing out on God’s best for me by settling for what is easy. Perhaps there are some areas of my life where I have created an environment of convenience that isn’t ideal, like those ospreys on top of the chimneys. Things like avoiding difficult conversations, avoiding my feelings, and not changing bad habits.
Let’s face it. Real and significant change is hard but necessary. Sometimes it feels like there isn’t enough capacity or strength to overcome well-worn habits and circumstances that need to change. The good news is that God wants to give us a full and abundant life, better than we can possibly imagine. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit is our advocate, cheerleader and guide and can help show the path forward. We are not alone and we don't need to be afraid.
What areas do you think the Spirit is calling you toward something better?
Are you avoiding any difficult conversations in order to remain in your comfort zone?
What current habits are you ready to exchange for something better?
In what ways are you getting in your own away from necessary changes you need to make in your life?
Scripture
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10
“But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him” – these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 2: 9-10
