If you look at your keychain right now, I bet you would find at least one key you have no idea what door it unlocks.

I also imagine there is also at least one lock in which you can’t find the key. It could be the door coming in from the garage, your front door, or a bike lock, but I bet there is one out there. I have experienced them all, and my resentment toward keys is growing. I am hesitant to throw away the keys that I don’t know what they unlock, but they are most likely they are from something I no longer occupy.

Keys are meant to unlock something you own, something that is yours, but sometimes those keys get lost. Other times, you have the key but can’t find the door. It has gotten to the point where it is better to put a master lockbox on the main doors, so at least the key and the door are together.

When I think about keys, I am drawn to the Bible. The Bible unlocks the world of salvation. Jesus is the door. I am so thankful that God is the master lockbox of my life. I may lose my keys from time to time, but I know that I just need to go back to the master lockbox and pull out the key.

What is on your keychain?

“I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.” John 10:9
