I married my sweetheart 30 years ago (August 15th).

I was finishing my undergraduate degree and he was finishing his graduate degree at Indiana University. It was a time for new beginnings. A time when we had no idea where we would be living or what we would be doing. We went from Indiana to Georgia and back to Indiana with many moves over those first years of marriage. On our ten-year anniversary we relocated again but this time to Colorado with two young kids in tow.

We left family and friends to run a business together. This was our most significant new beginning as we worked and raised our kids together. Now, fast forward another 20 years to today. The kids are grown, the business is sold, and there is another new beginning in the way of this blog. This is my way of stepping out in faith toward something new and a bit scary. You see, we don’t have to be “young and dumb” to have new beginnings in life. In fact, God is in the process of making all things new, so we are always in a state of renewal when we are in Christ. What an encouragement!

Do you have any “new beginnings” that you are facing? Are there any areas of your life that need your renewed attention? In what ways is God currently renewing you?

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
