H. Patiently waiting (Patience)

H. Patiently waiting (Patience)

We are glad that we were in Colorado at the time, because everything was taking SOOO long with no one culprit. It turns out that keeping a healthy distance really does help reduce levels of impatience. Also, keeping expectations low in regards to worldly endeavors. Our goal was to have the house remodel done by Thanksgiving, knowing that we really wanted to be in by Christmas. We were blessed to have a great contractor and a designer that worked together to keep things moving along. We would have little bursts and fits of activity before a long gap and then another fit of activity over the months. We purchased the house at the end of January of 2021, had some renters already scheduled by the previous owners, so couldn’t get started until April. We went to visit a few different times over the year to see how things were going and make decisions. Windows ordered in January, appliances in March, new roof added in April, Demo in May. We went in mid- October to see whether Christmas in Florida was a go or no go. The contractor and designer felt like it was still going to happen. They were determined to get us in prior to Christmas. Time to start making flight reservations. I have to say, it was MUCH easier to wait when we weren’t able to see the day-to-day progress (or lack thereof). Any kind of change, including renovation, takes time as well as patience.

Can you think of a time when you have had difficulty to patiently wait for a change to occur? Perhaps a change in yourself or a loved one?

“So because our hope is set on what is yet to be seen, we patiently keep on waiting for its fulfillment.” Romans 8:25
